Laura A. Graham Obituary
Laura A. Graham, 77, of Old Forge, NY passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at the Abraham House in Rome.
Laura was born in Utica on April 12, 1949, the daughter of Russell and Viola (Roth) Hamelin. She was raised in Utica and graduated from Utica Catholic Academy before continuing her education at Villa Maria College in Buffalo, New York. Laura was married to Stephen W. Graham, and together they were blessed with their beloved daughter, Stephanie. At one time, Laura co-owned and operated the Mobil Gas Station in North Utica. She later enjoyed a long and dedicated career with UFCW Local 1 in Utica, Washington Mills and Oriskany, where she worked for more than 20 years until her retirement. Following her retirement, Laura moved to Old Forge, a place she had long enjoyed during her summers and proudly called home for the last 40 years. Her passion for the Adirondacks led her to work part-time with the Adirondack Railroad, where she enjoyed sharing her love of the region with others. Laura found great pleasure in reading, playing Scrabble, and enjoying card games, especially Hearts and Pitch. She was actively involved in her community, serving as the former president of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. A woman of strong faith, she was a longtime parishioner of the former Blessed Sacrament Church in Utica and most recently attended St. Bartholomew's Church in Old Forge. Laura will also be fondly remembered as a beloved "Beach Mom" in Old Forge, where she shared countless happy memories with family and friends. Above all else, her greatest joy in life was her beloved daughter and cherished grandchildren, who were truly the light of her life.
Ms. Graham is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Stephanie Graham of Old Forge; her cherished grandchildren, Mackenzie and Antonio Bianchi of Stillwater, NY and Joshua Kelly and his fiancée Britney Levi of Clifton Park, NY; She was also eagerly anticipating the birth of her first adored great-granddaughter, due in October. She is further survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Keith Devlin of Clay, NY; her brothers and sister-in-law, Rodney Hamelin of Sacramento, CA, and Russell, Jr. and Sheila Hamelin of Upland, CA; her beloved nieces and nephews, Christopher (Sara) Zegarelli of Clay, NY, Holly (Michael) Allen of Van Alstyne, TX, and Elysse (Matt) Dorsey of Upland, CA and her dear lifelong friends, Beth Ann Strauss and Cathy Ehlinger. In addition to her parents, Laura was predeceased by her beloved nephew, Grant Hamelin and dear lifelong friend, Mickey O’Toole.
