Mrs. Wendy S. Leach, 75, of Schuyler, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at Wynn Hospital with her loving family by her side.

     Wendy was born in Utica on August 5, 1950, the daughter of Curtis and Kathryn (Jones) Sanger. She was raised in Utica and graduated from St. Francis de Sales High School. On November 20, 1971, she was united in marriage to Kevin K. Leach, beginning a loving and devoted union that spanned nearly 55 years. For more than three decades, Wendy served as the Court Clerk for the Schuyler Town Court. A woman of strong faith and community involvement, Wendy was a member of St. Mark’s Church in North Utica, the Catholic Women’s Club, and the Magistrates Association. She found great enjoyment in tending to her flowers and treasured the time she spent at the St. Lawrence River. Above all, Wendy was devoted to her family. Her greatest happiness came from the love she shared with them, especially her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were truly the light of her life and brought her endless pride and joy.

      Mrs. Leach is survived by her beloved husband, Kevin; her loving children, daughter Rebecca Wakefield of Marcy, and sons Christopher Leach and his husband, Chad Skrbina, of Denver, Colorado, and Brett Leach of New York Mills. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Brittany, Nikole, Tyler, Michelle, Madisyn, Trenton, Jake, and Troy; and her three adored great-grandchildren, Cayden, Sophia, and Gian. She is further survived by her sister, Mary Jo Sanger of Schuyler; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry and Joan Marie Sanger of Vernon Center, and Steve and Kathy Sanger of Whitesboro; her brother-in-law, Carlton Boone of Whitesboro; and many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and dear friends too numerous to mention. In addition to her parents, Wendy was predeceased by her cherished granddaughter, Kylah; her sister, Marlin Boone; and her brother, Curtis “Bub” Sanger.

     Visitation for family and friends is Sunday, June 14, 2026, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., North Utica. Her funeral service will be held on Monday, June 15th at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in West Schuyler Cemetery, Schuyler, NY.
