Mrs. Andrea Kula Pietras, of Deerfield, passed away on June 18, 2026, at her son Everett’s home with her loving family by her side.

    Andrea was born May 21,1948 in Utica NY, the daughter of Andrew and Shirley (Lusk) Kula. On July 26, 1969, Andrea married Paul Pietras at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Utica, a loving and devoted union of 45 years until Robert’s passing in 2014. Andrea loved her work caring for others at Rescue Mission Addiction Crisis Center and Masonic Home. 

     Andrea had a true servant’s heart. A devout Catholic, she shared her deep love for God and her faith through her active involvement at St. Peter’s Church in North Utica, where she was a dedicated parishioner. She was also a longtime member of the Deerfield Fire Department Auxiliary, generously giving her time in service to her community. In her later years, Andrea continued to inspire and encourage others as an instructor for a senior exercise class at the Parkway Senior Center.

     Family meant everything to Andrea.  She was devoted daughter, sister, aunt and cousin.  Yet it is her son, Everett and his family she was most proud of.  Her love was steady, her soul gentle, and her presence was found to be a guiding light through life’s storms. She taught by example, showing that kindness is strength and that friendship can be the deepest form of love. She was a source of unconditional love.  Her presence filled every room with warmth, and her absence leaves a space that can never be replaced. Her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us.

     Andrea is survived by her son, Everett Pietras and his loving companion and soulmate Tammy Harvey; her grandsons, Matthew Harvey and Jeffery Harvey, and the light of her life, Aaron Pietras; her siblings -Jennie (Mervin) Gross, Jerry (Anita) Kula, Jim Kula, Mary Ann (Dennis) Foster, Linda Kula and Kenny (Melissa) Kula; her brother-in-law, Chet (Sandy) Pietras, and her sisters-in-law, Peggy Pietras, Carol (Dave) Kelsey, Sue Messman and Irene VanRyn, as well as several nieces, nephews and in-laws.  In addition to her beloved husband Robert and parents, Andrew and Shirley, she was predeceased by her sisters, Karen Kula, Diane Kula and Carol (Rick) Simrell and her brother, Gary Kula.

     Relatives and friends are invited to attend Andrea’s Memorial Mass of Christian burial on Monday, June 29, 2026, at 10:00 am at St. Peter’s Church, 422 Coventry Ave., North Utica. The family will greet visitors at the conclusion of the Mass. A Private burial service, in Forest Hill Cemetery in Utica will be held at the convenience of the family.

     In lieu of flowers, donations in Andrea’s memory may be made to the Deerfield Volunteer Fire Department, 5476 Trenton Road, Utica, NY 13502, or to the Rescue Mission of Utica, 293 Genesee Street, Utica, NY 13501. Donation envelopes will be available at the church.

     The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Tammy for the devotion and care given to Andrea, as well as her friends for the love and support shown to Andrea and her family these last months.
