NORTH UTICA-Mrs. Kathleen A. Humbrecht, 82, of North Utica, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at MVHS Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in New Hartford, New York.

     Kathleen was born in Utica on May 31, 1944, the daughter of William and Dorothy (Rycraft) Mathy. She was raised in Sauquoit and was a 1962 graduate of Sauquoit Valley Central School.    In 1975, Kathleen was united in marriage to Francis Humbrecht. Together they shared many happy years of marriage until Francis’ death in 2018. Kathleen dedicated many years of service as a teacher's aide with the Utica City School District, where she found great joy in working with children and supporting their education. She was a member of the American Legion Utica Post 229 Ladies Auxiliary and was of the Catholic faith.

    Mrs. Humbrecht is survived by her brother, Richard (Betsy) Mathy of Sauquoit; her nieces and nephews, Kimberly (Michael) Ulrich, Richard (Lisa) Mathy, Jr., Brian (Jan) Mathy, Terry (PJ) Lopez and Karen (Brad) MacArthur, as well as several extended family members and friends who will cherish her memory. In addition to her parents, William and Dorothy, she was predeceased by her brother, Peter W. Mathy.

     Visitation for family and friends is Tuesday, July 28, 2026, from 4:00-6:00 PM at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., North Utica. Her memorial Service will follow at 6:00 PM at the conclusion of visitation. She will be laid to rest with her beloved husband in Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery at the convenience of her family.

     In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Kathleen's memory may be made to Anita's Stevens Swan Humane Society, 5664 Horatio Street, Utica, NY 13502, or to the Utica Maennerchor, 5535 Flanagan Road, Marcy, NY 13403. Donations envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
