Ronald Leonard Cousin Obituary

Mr. Ronald Leonard Cousin, 90, of Schuyler, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at Wynn Hospital.

Ronald was born in Utica on April 20, 1936, the son of Leonard and Bernadette (Poirier) Cousin. He was raised locally and was a graduate of Whitesboro High School. A proud veteran, Ronald served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was stationed in France. In June 1957, he was united in marriage to Jacqueline Pierret. Together they shared 63 years of marriage until Jacqueline's passing in 2020. Throughout his working years, Ronald held a variety of positions in the Utica area, most notably as a bartender at several local establishments, where he was well known for his friendly personality and warm hospitality. A man of faith, Ronald was a devoted parishioner of Historic Old St. John's Church in Utica.

Mr. Cousin is survived by his loving children, his daughter, Madeleine Kuhl, and his son and daughter-in-law, Marc and Betty Cousin. He also leaves his cherished granddaughter, Emily Rose Moran; his adored great-grandchildren, Isabella (Ben) Gothan, Mia Moran, and Max Moran; his beloved great-great-grandsons, Lucas Gothan and Noah Moran; his sister, Josette Stephens; and his three nephews, Craig Stephens, Mark (Theresa) Stephens, and Scott (Kathleen) Stephens. Also surviving are many dear friends, too numerous to mention.

In keeping with Ronald's wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral services.

Those wishing to honor Ronald's memory are kindly asked to consider a donation to the Historic Old St. John's Church Food Pantry, 240 Bleecker St., Utica, NY 13501.

Ronald's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Eric Cousin for the care and unwavering support he provided throughout the years.
