Eleanor B. Nadeau Obituary
Mrs. Eleanor B. Nadeau, 98, of New Hartford, passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at Wynn Hospital with his loving family by her side.
Eleanor was born in Utica on March 20, 1928, the daughter of Grover and Reva (Launt) Dunham. She was raised locally and was a graduate of Whitesboro High School. On July 5, 1947, Eleanor was united in marriage to Ralph J. Nadeau at Sacred Heart Church in Utica. Together they shared a loving and devoted marriage for 70 years until Ralph's passing in 2017. Eleanor was employed by several medical practices throughout the Utica area during her working years. Since 2019, she had made her home at The Meadows in New Hartford, where she enjoyed participating in many activities, especially the Rosary group, book club, and bingo. During her time there, she formed many cherished friendships with both residents and staff. With a special thank you to Becky, Bob and Mary. A woman of deep and abiding faith, Eleanor was a devoted member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Whitesboro. She was formerly a parishioner of St. Thomas Church in New Hartford and Sacred Heart Church in Utica, where she was actively involved in the school parent organization. She was also a dedicated member of the Sacred Heart Church Altar Rosary Society and the Sacred Heart Church Women's Club.
Mrs. Nadeau is survived by her loving children, her daughter, Christine Veschusio of Marcy; her son, Jeffrey Nadeau of Marcy; and her daughter-in-law, Joanne Nadeau of Yorkville. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Todd (Chrissy) Barry, Sara (Barry) Goodman, Cassandra Coy, Alexis Nadeau (Bryant Jones), Rachel Nadeau (Robert Marshall), and Paige Nadeau (Cody Bradley). She will be lovingly remembered by her adored great-grandchildren, Tekitha, Andrea, Paisley, Axel, Kaiden, Harlow, Juniper, and Lincoln; and by her treasured great-great-grandchildren, Kamilia and Kalix. Also surviving are several beloved nieces and nephews, including her special niece, Gordyne Scardina of Florida. In addition to her beloved husband Ralph, and her parents, Grover and Reva Dunham, Eleanor was predeceased by her beloved son, Douglas Nadeau; her beloved daughter, Valarie Boehlert; her beloved son, Gregory Nadeau; her son-in-law Tony Veschusio; her sisters, Audrey (Phillip) Durr and Helene Hamilton; and her brothers, Kenneth (Clara) Dunham and Gordon Dunham.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Eleanor’s Funeral Mass of Christian burial on Friday, July 24, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 16 Park Ave., Whitesboro. She will be laid to rest with her beloved husband at St. Joseph Cemetery in Yorkville. Visitation for family and friends is Thursday, July 23rd from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica.
