Mary J. (Williamson) Schultz 1934-2026

TRENTON, NY-Mary J. (Williamson) Schultz, 92, of Trenton, passed into the arms of the Lord on July 27, 2026, at Wynn Hospital, with her family by her side.

     Mary was born on April 18, 1934, in Utica, to the late Alexander Williamson and Genevieve (Law) Williamson. She was raised and educated in Utica, graduating from Utica Catholic Academy and later from St. Elizabeth College of Nursing.

     On November 19, 1955, Mary married LeRoy G. Schultz, Jr. Together they built a life and raised a family that would grow to include six sons, 17 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren. They shared more than 70 years of marriage until LeRoy’s passing on July 19, 2026.

     Mary began her career as a nurse before dedicating herself to raising her family. Raising six boys kept her busy, and she took great pride in the family she and Roy built together. Once her children were older, she returned to nursing, continuing the profession she enjoyed and the work of caring for others. Throughout her life, she was a dependable presence for those closest to her and someone her family knew they could always count on.

     Mary enjoyed cooking and rarely prepared a meal in small portions. Whether for everyday dinners or family gatherings, she always seemed to make enough food to feed an army. Her sons often brought friends home for dinner, and there was always room for one more at the table. Cooking was one of the ways Mary showed her care for the people around her, making sure her family and those welcomed into her home were always taken care of. Despite years of practice, she never quite figured out how to scale a recipe down for two people instead of eight.

     She is survived by her sons, Mark (Lisa) Schultz, Kurt (Sharon) Schultz, Carl (Valerie) Schultz, Gary Schultz, and Roy (Mary Ellen) Schultz. She is also survived by her grandchildren Aaron (Anna) Schultz, Joshua Schultz, Kurt (Kathy) Schultz, Alexander (Bianca) Schultz, Brittany (Connor) O’Neill, Matthew (Pamela) Schultz, Bryan (Marissa) Schultz, Adam (Dzenita) Schultz, Erica Armitage, Spencer Schultz, Megan Schultz, Ryan (Allison) Schultz, Ashley (Matthew) Brooks, Rachel Schultz, Sara (Phil) Bailey, Kyle (Cmantha) Schultz, and Sydney Schultz; and 22 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her brothers-in-law Carl (Cathy) Schultz and Lynde (Janice) Schultz, as well as many nieces and nephews.

     In addition to her beloved husband, Mary was predeceased by her youngest son, Paul Schultz; her brothers, John Williamson and James Williamson; her sister, Shirley Pritchard, and brother-in-law, Howard Pritchard; and her beloved daughter-in-law, Sharon Schultz.

     Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Mary and LeRoy’s memorial Mass of Christian burial on Saturday, August 15th, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph & St. Patrick Church, 702 Columbia St., Utica. The family will greet visitors at the conclusion of Mass. Mary and LeRoy will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Utica.

     The family wishes to express its sincere gratitude to the physicians, nurses and staff of Wynn Hospital for the compassionate care provided to Mary and the kindness shown to her family.

     In lieu of flowers donations are encouraged to the St. Elizabeth College of Nursing Scholarship Fund, Tunnel to Towers Foundation or your favorite charity. Envelopes will be available at the church.

     Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Heintz Funeral Service Inc. North, Utica.
