Mrs. Elizabeth “Betty” Duck, 93, of North Utica, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at SUNY Upstate Medical in Syracuse, with her loving family by her side.

     Elizabeth was born in Utica on January 25, 1933, the daughter of Charles and Helen (Wildhack) Fischer. She was raised locally and was a graduate of Whitesboro High School. In 1956, Betty was united in marriage to Edward Thomas Duck. The couple shared a loving and devoted union for 26 years until Edward’s passing in 1982. Betty was formerly employed by the Bank of Utica. She was a gifted painter and artist, but her true passion was spending time at her camp on Raquette Lake, where she found peace and relaxation while enjoying the beautiful sunsets. Betty was of Protestant faith.

     Mrs. Duck is survived by her two loving sons, Scott Duck of North Utica and Christopher Duck of Utica; her brother, Gary Fischer of North Utica and well as several cherished grandchildren and adored nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Edward and parents, Charles and Helen, Betty was predeceased by her two beloved sons, Mark Edward Duck and Eric Allen Duck and her brother, Roger Fischer.

     Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Betty’s memorial service on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., North Utica. Those wishing to honor Betty’s memory, are kindly asked to consider a donation to the Raquette Lake Library, 1 Dillon Rd., Raquette Lake, NY 13436. Donation envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
