Mrs. Kathleen (Kathy) A. Kennelty, 64, of New Hartford, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday January 29, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica. Kathleen was born in Utica on August 30, 1948 the daughter of William and Gertrude (Seubert) Williams. She was raised locally, was a graduate of Whitesboro High School and earned her bachelor's degree in nursing from Plattsburgh State University. At one time, Kathy was employed with Faxton Hospital in Utica and for many years as an RN and Director of Nursing with the Visiting Nurses Association, retiring in 2010. She enjoyed sewing, swimming and was an antique collector. Kathy was a parishioner of St. John The Evangelist Church in New Hartford and devoted her free time Volunteering for the American Red Cross. Mrs. Kennelty is survived by two sons, Sean Kennelty and his girlfriend Dina Dumais and her son Rocco DeRollo of Utica and Eric Kennelty of New Hartford; two sisters, Carol Williams and Sue Maline both of Virginia; one brother and sister-in-law, Russell and Lynn Williams of Utica; her Aunt, Sr. Edward Marie Seubert, O.S.F of Syracuse as well as several nieces, nephews and cousin. She was predeceased by her parents, William and Gertrude. Mrs. Kennelty's funeral will be held on Monday February 4, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John The Evangelist Church in New Hartford where her Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Rite of Committal and burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Yorkville. In keeping with Kathleen's wishes there are no calling hours.
