Linda L. “BaBa” O’Dell, 70, of Utica, passed away on Sunday August 5. 2018, at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center. Linda was born in Utica on September 27, 1947, a daughter of Richard R. and Lillian L. (Doerner) Weaver. She was raised and educated in Utica and was a graduate of Utica Free Academy. On April 15, 1967 at Westminister Presbyterian Church, Linda was united in marriage to Ralph F. O’Dell. Mr. O’Dell passed away in 1971. For many years she was employed by New York State Department of Transportion retiring in 2001. She was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church. Linda’s greatest joys were her grandchildren, who she affectionately named Dan the Man and My Nicole. Linda is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ralph R. and Colleen O’Dell, Utica, two beloved grandchildren, Daniel R. O’Dell, Utica and Nicole A. Mendez and her husband, Sean, New York Mills, a brother-in-law, Gene O’Dell and wife, Sandy, Williamson, NY, a sister-in-law, Diana Hardt, GA, special friends, Tom and Sandra Toher, Honeye Falls, NY and her granddogs, Ashlee, Gracie and Taluala. She was predeceased by a sister, Diana Matrassi. Mrs. O’Dell’s funeral service will be held on Friday, August 10, 2018 at 9:15 from the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica and 10:00 at Our Lady of the Rosary Church. Burial will be in Crown Hill Memorial Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Thursday from 4 – 6.
