Mrs. Theresa A. Choinka, age 86, of Oriskany, entered into Eternal Rest on Friday December 28, 2012. Theresa was born in Yorkville, NY on May 12, 1926 the daughter of Henry J. and Caroline (Reahm) Zorn. In 1950 she married Chester J. Choinka. In 1955 she graduated from the Utica School for Practicing Nurses. Theresa was employed at Marcy State Hospital and as a private duty nurse. She was also a talented seamstress and was of the Roman Catholic faith. Theresa nurtured her family, friends, pets and gardens. Mrs. Choinka is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Edward Mikuta; son Keith Choinka; son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Roberta Choinka; a sister, Caroline Ritzel and brother Anthony Zorn. She is also survived by four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Relatives and friends are warmly invited to a service at the Eastern Star Home Chapel, 8290 State Route 69, Oriskany, NY on Monday December 31, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. A private entombment will be in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Yorkville.
