Mrs. Julia E. White, 88, of N. Utica, passed away peacefully on Thursday December 28, 2012 with her loving family by her side. Julia was born in Hudson, NY on August 15, 1924 the daughter of Julius and Julia (Sinaji) Markowitz and received her education in Hudson. On September 13, 1945, Julia married Charles Edward White at St. Mary's Church in Hudson, NY, a devoted union of 58 years until his death in 2003. For many years until her retirement, Julia was employed with Universal Match Corporation in Hudson. Julia loved shopping, knitting and cooking and had a true passion for black and white movies. She also enjoyed spending time at the NY Mills Senior Center, but her true joy came from spending time with her great grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Julia was a parishioner of St. Mark's Church in N. Utica. Mrs. White is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Dennis Gorden of N. Utica; two cherished grandchildren, Scott Gorden and his wife Michelle of Whitesboro and Rebecca Nutley and her husband Mark of Weymouth, MA; four precious great grandchildren, Zachary and Allison Gorden and Adam and Sean Nutley; one sister and brother-in-law, Eileen and Frank Martin of Stottville, NY as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one sister, Marion Collerd and two brothers, George Markowitz and Joseph Markowitz. Mrs. White's funeral will be held on Monday December 31, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Church, 429 East Allen St., Hudson, NY. Her Rite of Committal and burial will be in Cedar Park Cemetery in Hudson, NY. Calling hours for family and friends are Sunday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica. In lieu of Flowers, please consider making a donation to Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 4277 Middle Settlement Rd., New Hartford, NY 13413 in Julia's memory. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Mrs. White's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Hospice and Palliative Care Inc., for the wonderful care and compassion given to Julia and her family.
