Adeline M. Wagner, 96, of Utica, passed away at the home of her daughter in Evansville, NY, on December 21, 2012. Adeline was born in Utica on November 17, 1916, the daughter of Rocco J. and Mabel Mae (Comstock) Gifune. She was raised and educated in Utica. In 1939, Adeline married Albert J. Wagner, sharing a union of 54 years, until his passing in 1993. Adeline had worked as the manager of the Elite Beauty Salon in the New Hartford Shopping Center. Adeline was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Utica, and currently of Sacred Heart & St. Mary's Church in New York Mills. Adeline was a baseball fan, especially of the NY Mets. Adeline is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Bruce Simmons, Evansville; a son and daughter-in-law, Albert A. and Judith Wagner, Rome; five grandchildren, Mark Krol, Michelle Krol, Wendy Simmons, Tonie Wagner, Ronald Wagner, as well as by 9 great grandchildren. Adeline is predeceased by a daughter, Cynthia Krol; two sisters, Lillian and Marian Gifune; a brother, Anthony Gifune. Mrs. Wagner's funeral will take place on Friday, December 28, 2012 at 1:00 pm at Sacred Heart & St. Mary's Church, New York Mills where her Mass of Christian Burial will take place. Entombment will follow in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum at Holy Trinity Cemetery, Utica. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica, on Thursday, from 2 - 5 pm.
