Obituary of Grace E. Zarnoch

Mrs. Grace E. Zarnoch, 89, a lifelong resident of Marcy, passed away on Monday December 10, 2012 at her home with her loving family by her side. Grace was born in Litchfield, NY on November 23, 1923 the daughter of Gardner and Eva (Bowden) Wilcox and received her education locally. On May 31, 1947 Grace was united in marriage with Valentine Zarnoch, a devoted union of 65 years. For 30 years, she was employed with General Electric Company in Utica. Grace was a member of the Maynard Fire Department Woman's Auxiliary and was a parishioner of St. Mark's Church in N. Utica. She loved crocheting baby blankets, knitting sweaters for her loved ones, sewing and mending her families clothing and babysitting. Mrs. Zarnoch is survived by her beloved husband, Valentine; two daughters and sons-in-law, Marilyn E. and Ronald J. Cyr of Marcy and Valerie A. and Kermit Pearl of Marcy; one son and daughter-in-law, Valentine Jr. and Rosemary Zarnoch of Clinton; loving grandchildren whom she adored, Ronald Jeffrey Cyr and his wife Lisa, Martin Joseph Cyr and his wife Athena, Jared A. Pearl, Shannon Grace Arroyo and Justin Joseph Zarnoch; cherished great grandchildren, Danielle Cyr, Mersadies Grace Arroyo, Arysely Acevedo, Roberto Acevedo Jr., Jacob Martin Cyr and Lila Grace Cyr and her favorite nephew, Martin Zarnoch and his wife Valerie. She was predeceased by her sister, Marion Paratore and brother, Henry Wilcox. Mrs. Zarnoch's funeral will be held on Thursday December 13, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mark's Church where her Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Rite of committal and entombment will be in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Yorkville. Calling hours for family and friends are Wednesday (today) from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc. in Grace's memory. Mrs. Zarnoch's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the devoted staff of Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc. for the loving care and compassion provided to Grace.
