Michele Marie Jablonski, 58, of Utica, passed away with her family by her side on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at The Pines Nursing Home, Utica, after a long illness. Michele was born in Utica on November 24, 1954, the daughter of George C. and Barbara (Conte) LaFleur. She was raised and educated in Utica, graduating from St. Francis de Sales High School. On July 2, 1977, Michele married David L. Jablonski in Utica. Michele's employment revolved around children. She had worked as a lunch monitor at Kernan Elementary School. She was a volunteer at the school bookstore, as well as a volunteer assistant with a Boy Scouts Troop. Michele was also an ice hockey fan, especially of the Utica College Pioneers. She was a member of St. Mary of Mount Carmel / Blessed Sacrament Church, Utica. Michele is survived by her husband, David, Utica; two daughters, Jennifer L. and Valeria L. Jablonski, Utica; a grandson, Tyler Jablonski, Utica; a future granddaughter, Carmen Marie; her father, George C. LaFleur, Rochester; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Patricia and Thomas Sullivan, Rochester, Alicia and Benjamin Memmott, Rochester; a brother and sister-in-law, George C., Jr. and Donna LaFleur, North Carolina; her mother-in-law, Irene Jablonski, Utica. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Michele is predeceased by her mother, Barbara LaFleur. Mrs. Jablonski's funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at 12:00 noon at St. Mary of Mount Carmel / Blessed Sacrament Church, Utica, where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Whitestown. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica, on Wednesday, from 9:30 - 11:30 am, prior to the funeral. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make donations to the family to assist with expenses or to St. Mary of Mount Carmel / Blessed Sacrament Church.
