David A. Dwyer, 74, of Utica passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at home surrounded by his loving family. David was born in Utica on December 28, 1937 a son of the late Frank A. and Blanche (Parker) Dwyer. He was a 1957 graduate of Utica Free Academy. At St. Joseph's Church, Utica on November 19, 1960 he was united in marriage to Jane-Ann Schreck. For 35 years until his retirement David was employed with Mohawk Containers. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph's & St. Patrick's Church, a 50 year member of the Knights of St. John Commandry #41, a member of the Utica Maennerchor, Whitestown Vets and I. O. O. B.. David was an avid hockey fan and a devoted family man who enjoyed camping with his family. David is survived by his wife, Jane-Ann, 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Donna and Richard Peroni, Rome, and Cathleen Dwyer, UPD retired, Utica, a son, Thomas A. Dwyer, Utica, 4 grandchildren, Daniel Peroni , Crystal Peroni , Makenna Dwyer and Carly Dwyer, 2 special people who were considered grandchildren, Jonathan Caldwell and Marlissa Caldwell, a brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Gail Dwyer, Waterville, in-laws, Carolyn and Ralph Brown, Baldwinsville, Rosemary and David Evans, Liverpool, Patricia and Robert Thompson, Liverpool, and James and Genevieve Schreck, Charlotte, NC and many nieces and nephews. David was predeceased by a brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Virginia Dwyer and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Julius and Jane Schreck. Mr. Dwyer's funeral will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at 10:15 from the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica and at 11:00 from St. Joseph's & St. Patrick's Church, Utica. Burial will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Tuesday from 4-7. In lieu of flowers those so wishing may make donations to Hospice & Palliative Care Inc. The family would like to thank Dr. Samir Desai, Judy Balch, nurse practitioner and the nurses of the 5th floor of Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare for all the loving care given to David. The Knights of St. John will meet at the funeral home Tuesday evening at 6:00 and the NY Mills Fire Dept. at 6:30
