Please share a memory of Myrtle to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Myrtle E. "Betty" Trietiak passed away peacefully at home with her devoted husband and daughter by her side. The daughter of Alvin P. and Ethel (Harbin) Blakley, Betty was born in Utica on February 13, 1929. She attended Utica Free Academy and was employed for many years by Mele Mfg. Co. in the Time Study/Payroll Dept.. On August 1, 1947 she married John A. Trietiak at the Central Methodist Church in Utica. Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a true friend to those she befriended. We'll all miss her and her dry sense of humor. She was an avid reader and a tremendous cook and baker. Besides her husband and canine companion, Dixie, she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Robert Larsen of Utica, a granddaughter, Meegan Mondrick and great granddaughter, Kaleigh Maloof, both of Syracuse. Betty's family wishes to express deep gratitude to Dr. Sultana Razia and her compassionate staff as well as to Hospice Nurses, Cheryl, Bonnie and Kate. There are no calling hours. A private funeral will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials to either Hospice & Palliative Care Inc., 4277 Middle Settlement Rd., New Hartford, NY 13413 or Stevens-Swan Humane Society, 5664 Horatio St., Utica, NY 13502.
