Audrey Rumont, 88, of Utica, passed away October 21, 2012 at the Presbyterian Home after a long illness. Audrey was born on October 4, 1924 in Utica, NY, the daughter of John and Mary Detzel Cummings and was educated in local school. She was employed at local retail stores and in the child care field. On December 29, 1948, Audrey married Stanley Rumont, a loving union of 60 years until his passing on January 16, 2009. Audrey was a member of St. Paul's Church in Whitesboro, NY. Audrey is survived by her nieces, Susan Spencer of Utica and Sandy Cummings of Deerfield and her sister-in-law Joan Cummings of Deerfield. She was predeceased by her brother John Cummings and her nephew John Cummings Jr. Mrs. Rumont's funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at 10:45 from the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica and at 11:30 from St. Paul's Church, Whitesboro. Burial will take place in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frankfort, NY. Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 10:45. The family would like to thank the Sokolowski and Petroski families for all the help they provided to Audrey over the years.
