Miss Patricia Mary Kowiatek, 64, of Utica, passed away on Sunday October 14, 2012 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica. Patricia was born in Utica on February 25, 1948 the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Swietonieowski) Kowiatek. She was raised in Utica and was a graduate of Utica Free Academy. For many years, Patricia was employed as a Certified Nurse's Aide with Heritage Health Care Center in Utica. She took great pride and enjoyed caring for the residents at the nursing home and her greatest joy was babysitting for her great nieces and nephews. Patricia was of the Catholic Faith. Miss Kowiatek is survived by her devoted sister, Ann Lewis of Utica; cherished nieces and nephews, Linda Kurdziolek of FL, Lorrie Sayles and her husband Dave of Norwich, Lisa Brown and her husband David of New Hartford, Ed Kurdziolek and his wife Sue of Holland Patent, Shaun Lewis of Utica, Steve Lewis of Utica and Paul Lewis of Utica and 7 adored great nieces and nephews who she loving cared for, Joseph Kurdziolek, Michael Kurdziolek, Jeffrey Chowaniec, Ethan Brown, Sarah Harvey, Carolyn Sayles and Robert Lewis. Miss Kowiatek's funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Historic Old St., John's Church in Utica where her Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Rite of Committal and burial will be in Sts. Stanislaus and Casimir Cemetery in Whitesboro. There are no calling hours.
