Mrs. Eugenia Mae Altieri, 79, of Marcy, passed away on Tuesday October 2, 2012 at Albany Medical Center with her loving family by her side. Eugenia was born in Utica on November 22, 1932. She was raised locally and was a graduate of Thomas R. Proctor High School. On November 21, 1959, Eugenia Married Michael J. Altieri, Sr. and St. Agnes Church in Utica. For many years, she assisted her husband in the operation of Interstate Batteries of The Mohawk Valley in Marcy NY. Eugenia enjoyed tending to her flower garden and house plants, was a cooking enthusiast always willing to try a new recipe and loved spending time at the family camp on Verona Beach. Eugenia's compassion for others was often demonstrated by her willingness to help anyone in need. She lovingly devoted her life to her husband, children and grandchildren, who were truly the light of her life. Mrs. Altieri is survived by her beloved husband Michael; four daughters and one son-in-law, Beverly Fellows of N. Utica, Michele Jaramillo of Schuyler, Lisa and Gerald Hebert of Schuyler and Margaret Altieri of Rochester; two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Reveca Altieri of Utica and Robert and Annissa Altieri of Deerfield; 13 cherished grandchildren, Christopher Fellows, Matthew Fellows, John Jaramillo, Joshua Jaramillo and his wife Laura, Javier Jaramillo, Sarah Jaramillo, Justin Jaramillo, James Altieri, Amy Hebert, Vanessa Hebert, Nicole Herbert, Amanda Imundo and Anthony Altieri and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mary and Ted Dobrzenski of N. Utica. She was predeceased by two sons-in-law, Juan Jaramillo and Dennis Fellows. Mrs. Altieri's funeral will be held on Saturday October 6, 2012 at 9:15 a.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica and 10:00 a.m. at St. Mark's Church, 440 Keyes Rd., N. Utica where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Rite of Committal and burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery in Utica.
