Mary F. (Lamandia) Burke, 86, of the Masonic Care Community and formerly of North Utica passed away on Wednesday, September 19, 2012. Mary was born in Chadwicks, NY on July 26, 1926 a daughter of Rocco and Maria (Buccinni) Zucco. In Great Bend, PA on July 10, 1962 Mary was united in marriage to Roland E. Burke a blessed union of 17 years until his death in 1979. For many years Mary worked in the Home Healthcare Business. Throughout her whole life Mary was devoted to her children and grandchildren. She was extremely proud of her Italian Heritage. She derived great joy in listening to Italian music and dancing. Mary is survived by her six beloved children; Anthony and Carol Lamandia, New Hartford, Gregory and Laurie Lamandia, Whitesboro, Jeffrey and Michele Lamandia, New Hartford, Roland and LuAnn Burke, Cicero, NY, Karen and Douglas Mielnicki, Deerfield and Darlene Burke and Lewie Humiston, Utica, 14 precious grandchildren, Vincent, Kayla, Roland, Amanda, Samantha, Brittany, Ashley, Kristina, Douglas, Barry Haney, Samantha Gabiger, Kaley Gabiger, Lisa and Noelle. Mary was predeceased by two brothers, Anthony and Vincent Zucco. Mrs. Burke's funeral will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 9:15 from the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica and at 10:00 from St. Anthony's and St. Agnes Church, Utica. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Friday (Today) from 4-7. In lieu of flowers those so wishing may make donations to the American Diabetes Association or the Masonic Care Community Activities Department. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Dr. O of the Masonic Care Community, Dr. Leo Sullivan and Dr. Dilip Kachare of St. Elizabeth's Medical Center, the staff of 3C of St. Elizabeth's Medical Center and her Masonic Care family and a special thanks to the "Angels" on Placid for all the loving care given to Mary.
