Obituary of Harold E. Brown

Harold E. Brown Sr., 90, passed away on Monday, July 23, 2018, at the Masonic Care Community in Utica, NY.
Born and educated in Rotterdam, Harold was the son of the late Arthur and Mary Emma (Pangburn) Brown Sr. A graduate of Draper High School and the General Electric Apprentice Course, Harold served in the Army at the end of WWII. He was employed by the General Electric Company for 42 years, and retired from the Gas Turbine Department. Harold was a member of the GE Quarter Century Club, the Schenectady Masonic Lodge, the Azan Shrine of Melbourne, Florida, the Bellevue Reformed Church of Schenectady and the Sebastian Presbyterian Church of Sebastian, Florida. He enjoyed traveling and camping with his wife, family and friends; and spending winters in Florida and summers at his Great Sacandaga Lake camp.
Predeceased in February 2005 by Helen (Furbeck) Brown, his loving wife of more than 56 years, and his brother, Arthur, in April 2018, he is survived by his daughter, Diane Kelly (husband Charlie), and son, Harold E. Brown Jr. (wife Cathy). Harold was loved by seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A family memorial service will be held at the Tompkins Chapel at the Masonic Care Community, Utica, NY. He will join his wife in the Memorial Garden at the Sebastian Presbyterian Church this fall.
