Harold E. Ingersoll, 66, formerly of West Winfield, passed away on August 28, 2012, at the Florida Hospital Heartland Center in Sebring, FL. Harold was born in Ilion, NY, on July 1, 1946, the son of Emer and Helen (Hartson) Ingersoll. He was raised and educated in the Richfield Springs School System. Harold proudly served two terms in the U.S. Navy, during the Vietnam War, upon the USS Valley Forge. On December 5, 1964, in Schuyler Lake, NY, Harold was married to Margaret M. Bougourd. For a number of years, until his retirement, Harold was employed as a corrections officer at the Mid-State Corrections Facility in Marcy, NY. He was of the Catholic Faith and a former member of the Richfield Springs American Legion. Harold enjoyed his time camping with his family and friends, searching the web on his computer, but mostly playing guitar and sinding in his band with his children. Harold is survived by his wife, Margaret, his children,Shelley Lamoree, of Cassville, NY and Richard and his wife, Stephanie Ingersoll, of Port St. Lucie, FL,five grandchildren, Shane and Kalin Lamoree, and Brandon, MaryAnn and Sarah Ingersoll; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Violet Stockget, of Bridgewater, NY; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert and Karen Bougourd, of FL; a special nephew, Edward Loomis and several more nieces and nephews. Harold was predeceased by a sister, Caroline Ingersoll, and two brothers, Edward and Albert Loomis. Mr. Ingersoll's funeral service will be held Thursday, September 6, 2012, at 10:00 AM at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica. His burial with Military Honors will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Whitesboro, NY. Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesday evening from 5:00 until 8:00 PM.
