David E. Waterman, 41, of Westmoreland, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 18, 2012, while in Buffalo, NY. David was born July 27, 1971, in Utica, the son of William and Phyllis (Bernhardt) Waterman. He was raised and educated locally and graduated from Mohawk Valley Community College. David was a registered nurse with University Hospital. On August 7, 1998, David married Donna Vatalaro, sharing a brief, yet meaningful union of 14 years, as well as 7 years prior to their marriage. David was a former competition powerlifter, even holding several world records. He is a member of St. John the Evangelist Church in New Hartford. David is survived by his beloved wife, Donna Waterman, Westmoreland; his cherished daughters, Gianna Esterina and Kali Marie Waterman; his parents, William and Phyllis Waterman, Westmoreland; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Cynthia and John M. Smith, Deansboro, Kathleen and Keith Brittell, New Hartford, Jessica and Peter Pagliaro, Sauquoit; nine nieces and nephews, Tyler, Steven and Hans Smith, Kevin, Kayla and Kyle Britell, Angelina, Pietro and Giovanni Pagliaro; aunts and uncles, Neil and Margaret Waterman, Whitesboro, Mary Milioto, Syracuse, Mark Waterman, Yorkville, Margaret Waterman, Utica. He is also survived by his father-in-law, Richard B. Vatalaro, Holland Patent, a sister-in-law, Dawn Vatalaro, Utica, a brother-in-law, Richard B. Vatalaro, Jr., Holland Patent, and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law and their family, Michael and Kate Yutzler, Alec and Ashley, Clinton, as well as by many dear lifelong friends and close coworkers. David is predeceased by his grandparents, Rosemary and David Bernhardt, as well as several aunts and uncles; by his mother-in-law, Katherine Vatalaro, and his grandparents-in-law, Esther and Edmund Krowicki. Mr. Waterman's Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, August 24, 2012 at 10:00 am at Church of the Annunciation, Clark Mills, where his Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow in Kirkland Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Heintz Funeral Home, 10 East Park Row, Clinton, Thursday evening, from 4 - 7 pm.
