Please share a memory of Anne to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
A truly loving wife, devoted and caring mother, and beloved friend to many passed away peacefully on July 19, 2012. Anne was born in Utica, NY, on December 12, 1939, the second of four children to Thomas and Esther (Corrigan) Clyne. She attended Our Lady of Lourdes, and Utica Catholic Academy where she excelled in piano and academics. She received a bachelor's degree in education from the College of Saint Rose. Anne taught high school in Boonville and Buffalo before starting her family. On August 10, 1963, Anne married her childhood sweetheart William Gale at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Utica. They shared an incredibly powerful and loving union which was inspiring for others to see. They shared their insight and faith with many couples through their work with Marriage Encounter. Anne was an ombudsmen, but foremost in her life, she was a mother and selfless caregiver, whose love extended not only to her family, but to countless other people, both young and old. Her sparkling, beautiful blue eyes, and attentive nature made all the people she knew feel special and loved. She had so many groups of friends, from school, her winters in Florida, Bible Study, Tuesday Coffee, etc. who will miss her dearly. Anne was a long time parishioner of St. Mary's Church in Clinton. Her faith and courage have been an inspiration to her family and friends throughout her life, especially during her recent illness. She leaves her husband of 49 years, Dr. William J. Gale of Clinton, NY, and 10 children: Mary (Paul) Fromm of Rochester, NY; Dr. Nicholas (Cathy) Gale of Yorktown Heights; Dr. Joseph (Ann) Gale of Clinton, NY; Daniel (Dr.Lisa Lester) Gale of Clinton, NY; Andrew (Kerri) Gale of Clinton, NY; Margaret (James) O'Connor of Castelton, NY; Elizabeth (Kevin) Kelley of Cleveland, OH; Jeanne (Steve) Marley of Clinton, NY; Kathleen (Eric) Dempster of Winchester, VA; and Matthew Gale of Brooklyn, NY; and 23 grandchildren: Catherine, Jennifer and John Fromm; Callahan, Kirsten, Cailin and Catherine (Aidan) Gale; Alexandra, Louisa, Audrey and Charlotte Gale; Fritz, Elizabeth (Betsy) and Seamus Gale; Nathan, Nicholas and Jessica Gale; Simon O'Connor; and Margaret, Nora, Grace, Maeve and Erin Kelley; and sisters: Mary (George: deceased) Touris of Merritt Island, FL; and Karen (Joseph) Pryor of Bridgeport, NY and a brother: Thomas Clyne of New Hartford, NY.
