Marie C. McQueen, 92, of Whitesboro passed away on Sunday, June 3, 2012 in St. Elizabeth's Medical Center. Marie was born in Utica on March 6, 1920 a daughter of Edward R. and Anna C. (Fehlner) Lenk. At St. Joseph's Church, Utica on June 2, 1946 Marie was united in marriage to Joseph A. McQueen a blessed union of 31 years until his death on April 2, 1977. Throughout her life Marie was employed with St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Commercial Travelers Insurance Co., Notre Dame High School and until her retirement, the Office for the Aging. She was a parishioner of St. Paul's Church, Whitesboro, a volunteer at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, a member of St. Elizabeth's Guild and the Pillow Ladies of St. Elizabeth's Hospital. Marie is survived by her three sons and daughters-in-law, Tom and Dottie McQueen, Palm Harbor, FL, Robert and Nancy McQueen, Clinton, and Brian and Sarah McQueen, Whitesboro, her three grandsons, Joe McQueen and wife Alison, FL, Patrick McQueen, MA and Ryan McQueen, Whitesboro, her two great grandchildren, Kaelynn and Ethan and her sister, Sister Dolorosa Lenk, O.S.F., Utica. Marie was predeceased by a brother, Rev. Dr. Edward Lenk, O.S.F. in 2000. Mrs. McQueen's funeral will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at 8:45 from the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica and at 9:30 from St. Paul's Church, Whitesboro where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesday from 4-8. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Marie McQueen Memorial Scholarship Fund. Contributions to the fund may be made to the American Family Foundation either online at www.familyfoundation.us or by mail to 5569 Salem Square Drive South, Palm Harbor, FL 34685, ATTN: Tom McQueen. The Whitesboro Fire Department will meet at the funeral home Wednesday evening at 5:30 and welcome all Fire Service Agencies to join them. The family would like to thank Dr. Oleg Dulkin, 3B & 4th floor Special Care of St. Elizabeth's Hospital, the nursing staff, especially Diane Cook our dear friend and neighbor, and the Whitesboro Fire Department for all the loving care given to Marie.
