Raymond W. Usyk, 51, of Schuyler passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2012 in St. Elizabeth's Medical Center. Raymond was born in Utica on September 29, 1960, a son of Dolores (Zygmunt) Usyk and the late Andrew Usyk. In Utica on May 21, 1983 he married Darlene Donovan. Raymond was employed with the Laborers Union Local #35. He was a member of St. Mark's Church, North Utica and a honorary life member of the Schuyler Volunteer Fire Department. Ray was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed hunting and four wheeling. In his earlier years he enjoyed coaching Little League and football. Ray will be remembered most for his willingness to always help others. Raymond is survived by Darlene, his heart and soul of 25 years, his mother, Dolores Usyk, Clinton, two sons, Sean Usyk and wife Krystle, Deerfield, and Aaron Usyk and companion, Cortney Foti, Ilion, two granddaughters, Alexandria and Victoria Usyk, Deerfield, brothers and sisters, Andy Usyk and wife Kathy, Westmoreland, Cindy Shepardson, Schuyler, Douglas Usyk, Newport and Matthew Usyk, Clinton, an aunt, Clarise Zygmunt and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many good friends. Raymond was predeceased by his father, Andrew Usyk. Mr. Usyk's funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at 11:30 A.M. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., Utica. Burial will be in the West Schuyler Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesday from 5-8. Those so wishing may make donations to the American Cancer Society in Ray's memory.
