Linda Schachtler Vesley, 48, of Trumansburg, NY, formerly of Clinton, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2012 at her parents' home in Clinton, after a long illness. Linda was born December 27, 1963 in Hildersum, Holland, the daughter of Fred and Carolina (Lam) Schachtler. She was raised and educated in Clinton, graduating Clinton High School, Class of 1982. In 1983, Linda married Ken Green. The couple made their home in Clinton and had two daughters. In 2007, Linda married Scott Vesley. She then made her home in Trumansburg. Linda was of the Catholic faith. Linda is survived by her husband, Scott Vesley, Trumansburg; two daughters, Danielle Green, Whitesboro, Nicole Green, Clinton; a granddaughter, Kara Young; her parents, Fred and Carolina Schachtler, Clinton; her brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Theresa Schachtler, Utica; two stepdaughters, Tracy Vesley and Heather Vesley, Trumansburg; a stepson, Sean Vesley, Trumansburg; her uncle and aunt, Kurt and Kay Schachtler, Waterville, as well as by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins in Holland. Mrs. Vesley's funeral service will be held Thursday, April 19, 2012 at 9:30 am at the Heintz Funeral Home, 10 East Park Row, Clinton. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Memorial Park, Kirkland. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday evening, from 4 - 7 pm. The Helmuth-Ingalls American Legion Post # 232 will meet at 5 pm at the funeral home.
