Eleanor E. White, 99, of the Presbyterian Home, formerly of Tracy St., Utica, passed away on Sunday March 25, 2012. Eleanor was born in Utica on October 27, 1912 a daughter of William and Agnes (Meaney) Edwards. She was a graduate of St. Frances de Sales High School and later a graduate of Cortland State College. On October 5, 1946 at St. Frances de Sales Church, Eleanor was united in marriage to Michael F. White, a blessed union of 33 years until his death in 1979. Eleanor began her working career with the Bossert Manufacturing Co. and then later until her retirement with the Utica School System. She was a parishioner of St. Paul's Church, Whitesboro. Eleanor is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Mary A. White, Walnut Creek, CA, Kathleen and Joseph Edic, Marcy, NY and Christine and Carl Tine, Salem, SC, a son, Michael J. White, Utica, six grandchildren, Christine Edic, Jennifer Edic, David Edic and wife Christine, Leslie White, Brian White and wife Jennifer, and Matthew White, three great grandchildren, Ava Williams, Tristyn Williams and Alexandria White and several nieces and nephews. Eleanor was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Charlene White, a sister, Margaret Edwards, a brother, Robert Edwards, and special cousin and his wife, Dr. Stephen and Helen Mahady. Mrs. White's funeral will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at 8:45 from the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica and at 9:30 from St. Paul's Church, Whitesboro. Burial will take place in St. Agnes Cemetery, Utica. Calling hours at the funeral home are Tuesday from 5-7. Those so wishing may make donations to the American Heart Association in Eleanor's memory. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staffs of the Activity Department and the Willow Wing of the Presbyterian Home for all the loving care given to Eleanor.
