Theresa (Cissi) Fiaschetti, 95, of the Lutheran Residential Healthcare Center, formerly of Utica, passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2012. Theresa was born in Utica on March 11, 1917 the daughter of Salvatore and Frances (Ciufo) Cissi. She was raised and educated in Utica and was a 1935 graduate of Utica Free Academy and a 1938 graduate of the St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing. At St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church, Utica on July 3, 1943, Theresa was united in marriage to William Fiaschetti, a blessed union of 62 years until his death on December 15, 2005. For many years until her retirement in 1977, she was employed as a registered nurse at St. Luke's Hospital. Theresa was a founding member of Sacred Heart Church, Utica, a member of its Altar Rosary Society and was a faithful parishioner until its closing. She was also a member of the Lucy Kellogg Relief Nursing Society. Throughout her life Theresa was a loving caregiver to her family and friends. Theresa is survived by her two loving daughters and son-in-law, Michele Simmen, Whitesboro and Joanne and Richard Shimko, Fairport, NY, four cherished grandchildren, Adam Simmen, AZ, Leanne Simmen, Oswego, NY, David Shimko, Fairport, and Leah Masny and husband Michael, Fairport, and many nieces and nephews. Theresa was predeceased by a brother, Frank Cissi. Mrs. Fiaschetti's funeral will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 11:00 at Our Lady of The Rosary Church, New Hartford. Entombment will be in the Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers those so wishing may make donations to the St. Jude's Research Hospital in Theresa's memory.
