Obituary of Thomas A. Peters

Mr. Thomas “Bruno” A. Peters, 59, of Holland Patent, passed away on Monday, June 25, 2018 at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare in New Hartford with his loving family by his side.
Thomas was born in Utica, on August 5, 1958, the son of Howard and Mary (Alexander) Peters. He was a graduate of NY Mills High School and attended several trade schools, including MVCC where he earned his welding certificate. On October 23, 1981, Bruno was united in marriage with Luann Internicola at the Church of The Annunciation in Clark Mills. For many years, he was employed with Utica General Peterbilt in N. Utica and was a dedicated volunteer with the Abraham House in Utica. Bruno’s true passions included, motorcycles, motorcycle drag racing which included being the starter man for Running Strong Cycles and guns. Among Bruno’s many accomplishments, he will be most remembered for the love he had for his family, especially his cherished granddaughters, Paige and Arin who were the light of his life.
Mr. Peters is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jamie and Scott Roberts of Vernon; his son, Joshua Peters of Denver, CO; two cherished granddaughters, Paige Roberts and Arin Roberts; one sister, Mary Hungerford of Rome; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Dan and Beth Peters of Las Cruces, NM and their son Brett McCloskey and Mark and Nancy Peters of Flower Mound, TX and their children, Sean Peters and Megan Peters. Also surviving are Luann Peters of Rome and many dear friends, especially, Jeff Taylor, Bruce Graf, Joe Aiken, Rick and Theresa Blank, Andy Crossley and Ann Lindsay. He was predeceased by a sister, Nancy Peters.
Mr. Peters’ funeral will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica. His interment, in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Whitesboro, will be held at the convenience of his family. Calling hours for family and friends are Friday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Abraham House, 1203 Kemble St., Utica, NY 13501 in Bruno’s memory.
In honor of Bruno and his love of motorcycles, the family respectfully requests those family and friends with motorcycles to please ride them to his services.
Mr. Peters’ family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Amy Gorczynski and the staff of Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare, ICU for the wonderful care and compassion you provided to Bruno.
