Nona M. Sehl, 73, a resident of The Pines Nursing Home, formerly of Clark Mills, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2012 at the home. Nona was born October 6, 1938 in Utica, the daughter of Dr. Harold and Helen (Dougherty) Sehl. She was raised and educated in Clark Mills and graduated from Utica Catholic Academy. Nona went on to receive her Bachelor's Degree from Marquette University and her Master's Degree from Syracuse University in Elementary Education. She was a Catholic school teacher in Syracuse, having to retire at a young age due to illness. Nona is survived by a sister, Eileen Scher, Northridge, CA; a brother and sister-in-law, Harold (Bud) and Ann Sehl, Rome, NY; as well as by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. She is predeceased by three sisters, Dolores Sehl, Patricia Sehl, Roberta Perez; and a brother, Daniel Sehl. Ms. Sehl's funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2012 at 10:30 am at the Heintz Funeral Home, 10 East Park Row, Clinton. Interment will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery, Clinton. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home, Thursday morning, from 9:30 to 10:30 am prior to the service.
