Please share a memory of Beulah to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Beulah (Thomas) Leech passed away peacefully at The Pines at Utica on January 3, 2012 at the age of 91. She was born on July 23, 1920 to Ambrose "Honey" and Marjorie (Fritch) Thomas. Beulah was married on November 25, 1938 to Philip Leech, educated in the Utica School System and later employed by General Electric. She was a member of St. Thomas Church, The Young at Hearts and the New Hartford Adult Dining and Activity Center. Her favorite pastimes included knitting, crocheting and tennis. However, her greatest love besides her family was her passion for animals. Once a stray made it to the porch it wasn't long before it would have a name and be part of the family. Emma and Cleo will miss her very much. Surviving are a son, John P. Leech, a grandson, John L. Leech, a niece, Linda Forbes, a nephew and his wife Albert and Laurie Radell, nephews, Walter, Charles and Donald Blanchard, a niece, Kate Blanchard, stepsisters, Jeanne Hubley, Norma Stephenson and many great nieces, nephews and cousins. Also surviving are dear friends, Shirley Barron, Eileen Logalbo, and Sharon Abbott. Beulah is predeceased by her sister Dorothy Radell and a dear friend Edward Pitt. Friends and family may pay their respects on Thursday (Today) January 5, 2012 from 4 - 7 at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro Street, Utica. Mrs. Leech's funeral will be held on Friday at 11 am at St. Thomas Church, Clinton Rd., New Hartford. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you consider a donation to the Humane Society of Utica. The family wishes to thank the many doctors, nurses and aides at The Pines at Utica who provided such loving care to Grandma. We also would like to thank her family Dr. Naji El-Khoury for his many years of devoted care.
