Curtis J. Young, 80, of North Utica, passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2011. Curtis was born in Cheektowaga, NY on July 21, 1931 a son of John and Florence (Stoetzel) Young. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during the Korean War. In Buffalo, NY on May 7, 1960 Curtis married Betty Marke. For many years Curtis was employed with the Burns Security Agency and after his retirement he worked for Zogby International. Curtis is survived by his wife, Betty, two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Catherine Young, Utica and Christopher and Lori Young, PA, a daughter, Linda Young, Utica and four grandchildren, John Young, II, Utica, Mark Young, PA, Curtis Young, PA, and April Walker, MN. Mr. Young was predeceased by a sister, Florence Frasier. Mr. Young's funeral will be held on Tuesday morning, January 3, 2012 at 10:00 at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., North Utica. There are no calling hours. Those so wishing may make donations to Hospice & Palliative Care.
