Donald E. Boehlert, 93, a resident of the St. Luke's Home, formerly of Deerfield, passed away Friday, September 2, 2011 at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse. Donald was born October 22, 1917 in Utica, the son of Matthew and Anna Marie (Ernst) Boehlert. He was raised and educated in Utica, graduating from St. Francis de Sales High School. In 1942, Donald married Madelene Dziezynski in St. Stanislaus Church, Utica. He was employed at Griffiss Air Force Base as a tool and dye maker, retiring in 1983. Donald was a member of St. Peter's Church in North Utica. Donald is survived by his beloved wife, Madelene Boehlert, Deerfield; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Robert and Denise Boehlert, Lancaster, CA, James Boehlert, the Adirondacks; two cherished grandchildren, Crystal and April Boehlert, as well as by many nieces and nephews. Funeral services and interment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Whitestown, are being held privately at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica.
