Mr. George H. Mosher, 81, of Utica, passed away on Tuesday August 16, 2011 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare in New Hartford with his loving family by his side. George was born in Utica on July 20, 1930 the son of George and Elizabeth (Amberg) Mosher. He was raised in Utica, was a graduate of Utica Catholic Academy and attended Utica College. George honorably served his country in the US Army from 1951-1953. On June 6, 1959, George married Patricia A. Murphy at Historic Old St. John's Church in Utica, a loving and devoted union of 52 years. For many years, he was employed with Chicago Pneumatic Company retiring in 1990. George was a member of the VFW in Whitestown and a parishioner of St. Joseph & St. Patrick Church in Utica. He was an avid NY Yankee Fan, enjoyed Syracuse football and basketball, puzzles, dancing and above all was a true family man. Mr. Mosher is survived by his beloved wife Patricia; one daughter, Alicia Mosher of Utica; two sons, Gregory Mosher and George J. Mosher both of Utica; one sister, Marion Gillette of Whitesboro; two brothers-in-law, Michael and Bonnie Murphy of Remsen and James and Jane Murphy of Richmond, TX and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Kevin F. Mosher and a sister, Arlene Buckingham. Mr. Mosher's funeral will be held on Monday August 22, 2011 at 9:15 a.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica and 10:00 at St. Joseph & St. Patrick Church where his Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Interment, with military honors, will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Yorkville. Calling hours for family and friends are Saturday August 20, 2011 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Those wishing to make a donation in George's name, please consider the American Diabetes Association or American Heart Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
