Jeanne (VanSchaick) Irving, 74, of New Hartford passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2011. Jeanne was born in Utica on March 29, 1937 a daughter of D. Stanley and Agnes (Nicholson) VanSchaick. She received her early education from the good Nuns of Blessed Sacrament and St. Francis de Sales Schools. Then graduated from Central City Business Institute in Syracuse. She also pursued her love of art through participation in several art courses at Mohawk Valley Community College, Munson Williams Proctor Arts Institute and the Senior Center as well as instruction with local teachers. At Blessed Sacrament Church, Utica on April 12, 1958 Jeanne married Peter Irving. For many years Jeanne was employed with many local doctors as a medical secretary. She was a member of St. Thomas More Traditional Roman Catholic Chapel and was a teacher of Traditional Catechism at St. Michael's Catechetical Center and St. Thomas More Chapel. Jeanne is survived by her husband Peter, two daughters, Jill Hojohn, Amsterdam, NY and Tracey Bradley, Oswego, NY, four sons and two daughters-in-law, Mark and Denise Irving, OR, Scott and Marybeth Irving, Syracuse, Eric Irving, Utica and Todd Irving, Clay, NY, a sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Marty Posila, Johnstown, NY, two sisters-in-law, Shirley Irving, FL and Rosemary Maurizio, Utica. She is also survived by nine grandchildren. Jeanne was predeceased by an infant son, Michael Irving. Mrs. Irving's funeral will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at 9:15 from the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica and at 10:00 from St. Thomas More Traditional Roman Catholic Chapel, 738 Roberts St., corner of Sunset Ave., Utica, where a Traditional Latin Requiem Mass will be celebrated by a Priest of the Congregation of Saint Pius V. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Whitesboro. Calling hours at the funeral home are Tuesday from 4-7. Those so wishing may make donations to Hospice & Palliative Care Inc. in Jeanne's memory. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the nurses and aids of Hospice for all the loving care and support they gave to Jeanne.
