Rosemary Tamer, 82, of Utica passed away on Friday, July 15, 2011 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare Center with her loving family by her side. Rosemary was born in Utica on June 14, 1929 the daughter of Charles and Cecelia (Schorer) Hauser. She received her education locally and was a lifelong resident of Utica. At St. Joseph's Church, Utica on February 3, 1951 Rosemary married Bert Tamer a blessed union that last 31 years until his death in 1982. As a young woman she worked at the Utica Knitting Co. until its closing and more recently at Sturges Manufacturing Co. for 31 years until her retirement in 2008. She was a lifetime member of St. Joseph & St. Patrick Church and its Perpetual Adoration Society and enjoyed volunteering at Mother Marianne's West Side Kitchen after her retirement. Rosemary enjoyed doing puzzles, watching TV, reading, sewing, and walking her dog Ebony Rose who was much company for her. Rosemary is survived by her two daughters and son-in-law, Donna Fish, Whitesboro and Bonnie and Darren Woods, New Hartford, her two sons and daughters-in-law, Bert and Joan Tamer, Schuyler and Joseph and Tara Tamer, Dallas, TX; four grandchildren, Michael Fish and Maria, Matthew Fish and Fiancée Rebekah, Nicholas Tamer, and Joelyn Fish, two great grandchildren, Daryn Fish and Julian Fish, two brothers-in-law, Richard Naber, Owego, NY and James Cittadino, Utica; her canine companion Ebony Rose; a special friend of over 50 years Joan Duff, Deerfield and many nieces and nephews. Rosemary was predeceased by her daughter, Cynthia Ann in 1960, 3 brothers, Vernon, Leslie and William Harvey and 2 sisters, Frances Naber and Doris Cittadino. Mrs. Tamer's funeral will be held on Monday, July 18, 2011 at 8:45 from the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica and at 9:30 from St. Joseph & St. Patrick Church where her mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Sunday (today) from 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers those so wishing may make donations to Mother Marianne's West Side Kitchen, St. Joseph & St. Patrick Church or the Stevens-Swan Humane Society.
