Please share a memory of Dominick to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Dominick A. Mozzetti, 90, of Utica, went home to the Lord on Friday, July 8, 2011. Dominick was born in Utica, NY, September 25, 1920, the son of the late Sabatino and Maria Pacifico Mozzetti. He was married to the former Marjorie Edgett. They had a union of 57 years. Together they had 4 children. Dominick worked hard throughout his life on construction, the railroad and the restaurant business. He retired from ARC. His favorite times were when he was surrounded with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren in North Carolina, Florida, California or in the New Hartford and Albany area. He loved to travel, shop and cook. His specialty were greens and beans and he made the best meatballs ever. He attributed his cooking talent to his wife Marge. Dominick loved flowers and kept his yard beautiful with "begonians", as he called them. He won an award in Utica for, "Yard of the Month." A great Yankee fan, everyone knew when a baseball game was on he wasn't going anywhere, it was fun to watch it with him. He voiced his opinion about every play made. You learned a lot. He leaves behind some special friends, his best friend and nephew, Shuggy and his neighbor Ronny. Even at 90 he continued to attend Slocum Dickson gym three times a week. He often talked about the great friends he made there. He called them his "clique." They told the family he was a great inspiration to them. Dominick was predeceased by his wife Marge in May 2001; his beloved granddaughter Lisa; his brothers John, Tony, Jim and Sam; his sisters, Helen, Angie, and Peggy and his sisters-in law Florence, Theresa and Louise. He is survived by daughter and son-in-law Donna and William Colucci of Florida, daughter and son-in-law Mary Ann and Edward Benson of New Hartford, son and daughter-in-law Tim and Carol Mozzetti of North Carolina and son and daughter-in-law Tom and Sue Mozzetti of California, as well as many beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Rose Mozzetti of Utica, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Patricia and Jack Cox of Oswego and special nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed. At Dominick's request there will be no viewing hours.
