Stella Murawski, 96, a resident of the Presbyterian Home and formerly of North Utica passed away peacefully May 30, 2011. Stella was born in Utica on May 4, 1915 a daughter of Josef and Katherine (Szylar) Maciol. At Holy Trinity Church, Utica on May 5, 1935 Stella married Leo A. Murawski a blessed union of 61 years until his death in 1996. For many years until her retirement in 1970 she was employed at Griffiss Air Force Base. Stella was a parishioner of St. Peter's Church, North Utica. Stella always enjoyed gardening , sports and spending time at their camp on Kayuta Lake. Stella is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and Trisha Murawski, Williamsburg, VA and Gerald and Monica Murawski, Deerfield, four grandchildren and spouses, Barbara and Nick Cecere, IA, Michael and Julie Murawski, Oneida, NY, Chris and Debbie Murawski, NJ and Mark and Lanore Murawski, NJ, 8 great grandchildren, Nicholas and Garrett Cecere, Morgan, Melissa, Matthew, Alexa, Ryan and Colin Murawski, and many nieces and nephews. Stella was predeceased by her sister Helen Anderson of CA in March 2011. Mrs. Murawski's funeral will be held on Friday June 3, 2011 at 10:00 from St. Peter's Church, N. Utica. Burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery. There are no calling hours. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of the Maple Unit at the Presbyterian Home for all the wonderful care they gave to Stella.
