Mrs. Carol Mary Glod, of Oswego Rd., passed away Monday May 23, 2011 at her home with her family by her side after an extended Illness. Carol was born November 30, 1937, the daughter of Florence and Roy Cole and attended Rome Central Schools. Carol married Keith Vincent Glod, Sr. on May 17, 1964, and the couple recently enjoyed their forty seventh wedding anniversary. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with her family. Mrs. Glod is survived by her husband Keith Sr.; two sons, Donald Martin of Lakeland, FL and Keith Glod, Jr. of Utica; two daughters, Debbie Schreppel of Coldbrook, NY and Noel Glod Murphy of Floyd, NY; five sisters, Florence Wilson of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Dorothy Blades of Westmoreland, NY, Pat Lesher of Spencerport, NY, Alice Dashiewich of Palmyra, NY and Ethel Lawler of Sparta, NJ; four grandchildren, Josh, Lexi, Matt and Nicholas and many nieces and nephews. Graveside services, under the direction of Heintz Funeral Service, Inc., Utica to be announced at a later date. Donations in Carol's memory can be made to a veterans association of your choice.
