Mrs. Letha M. Guidera, 92 a resident of the Katherine Luther Residential Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Clinton passed away on Thursday May 5, 2011 at the nursing home with her loving family by her side. Letha was born in Utica on November 23, 1918 the daughter of Paul & Christine (Caruccia) Massago and received her education in Utica schools. On November 28, 1939 Letha married George Guidera at St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church in Utica, a devoted union of 26 years until George's death in 1965. For many years, Letha was employed with local Dry Cleaners retiring in 1996. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph & St. Patrick Church in Utica. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt who will be sadly missed by her family. Mrs. Guidera is survived by her beloved children, George and Ann Guidera of New Hartford, Richard and Marilyn Guidera of Utica, Thomas and Rena Guidera of Utica, Christine and Al Sike of Barneveld and Josie and Justin Latus of New Hartford; 12 cherished grandchildren, Nicole and Dean Nole, Dana Guidera, Michael and Sharon Guidera, Kristin and Anthony Grieco, Gina and Robert Cerminaro, Tracy Guidera and Edwin Ombajo, Michele and Richard Diliberto, Lynn and David Commisso, Renee Guidera, Alex Sike, Vincent and Nicole LoRusso and Christopher LoRusso and his fiance Erica Gaetano; 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank her devoted nephew, Ed Bonner and the entire Bonner Family for their support and love throughout the years. She was predeceased by three sisters, Rosemary Bonner, Anna Spring and Dolly Blum, two brothers, Paul Massago and Jerry Massago and a special Angel, her great grandson, Noah Ombajo. Mrs. Guidera's Memorial Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday May 10, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph & St. Patrick Church, 702 Columbia St., Utica. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Yorkville. The family will receive visitors at the conclusion of the Memorial Mass. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the March of Dimes in honor of Letha's great grandson, Noah Ombajo.
