William J. "Billy" Fraser , a resident of the Katherine Luther Residential Community, Clinton passed away peacefully on March 9, 2011 with his loving family at his side. Bill was born on October 6, 1959, son of Jack and the late Babs (McCann) Fraser. Bill attended Kernan School in Utica graduating from the Benedictine School in Ridgley, Maryland in 1977. From birth on, Bill coped with serious health problems including congenital heart ailments and progressive blindness. He became a hero to friends and family alike as he approached his challenges with grace, guts and good humor. Bill was known for his warm smile, infectious laugh and zest for life. Good friends, good music and good fishing made him happy. His favorite song and artist was "You've Got A Friend" by James Taylor. Bill is survived by his father, Jack Fraser and step mother, Michael Ann (Kelly) Fraser, brothers, John E. Fraser, James J. Fraser, Jeffrey P. Fraser and sister, Amy J. Van Slyke. He is also survived by ten nieces and nephews, each holding a special place in "Uncle Billy's" heart, and his lifelong friend Larry Owens. We will miss him always. A mass in celebration of Bill's life will be held Saturday, May 14, 2011 at 10:00 at St.Mary's Church, Clinton. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
