Obituary of Ronald F. Stuhlman

Mr. Ronald F. Stuhlman of Utica passed away on Wednesday February 16, 2011 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare in New Hartford. Ronald was born in Utica, the son of Willard B. and Helen (Rohmyer) Stuhlman. He was raised in Utica, was a graduate of Utica Catholic Academy and earned his bachelor's degree in accounting from Utica College. On May 21, 1960, Ronald married Donna M. Townley at St. Joseph's Church in Utica, a blessed union of 50 years. Ronald began his career with the lottery division of NY State and retired as a tax examiner in the Taxation and Finance department of NY State. Ronald had a real passion for basketball, having played for Utica College and for over 25 years refereeing boys and girls basketball as well as soccer. He was a member of IAABO Board 51 and the Utica Board of Officials for women's basketball. He was a longtime member of Knights of Columbus Utica council 189, an active usher at the former Sacred Heart Church in Utica, a parishioner of St. Joseph & St. Patrick Church in Utica and enjoyed spending time at Vernon Downs Racetrack. A true family man, Ronald's life was devoted to his beloved wife, children and grandchildren. Mr. Stuhlman is survived by his loving wife Donna; one daughter, Anne Stuhlman of New Hartford; six sons and four daughters-in-law, Daniel John Stuhlman of Cohoes, NY, Robert and Cynthia Stuhlman of Sauquoit, Ronald P. and Sharon Stuhlman of Whitesboro, John Stuhlman of Syracuse, Joseph and Kate Stuhlman of Ballston Lake, NY and Thomas and Linda Stuhlman of Whitesboro; thirteen cherished grandchildren, Sarah, David, Michael, Christopher, Kelly, Bryan, Mary, Jack, Tessa, Joshua, Samuel, Grace and Maria; sister-in-law, Joan Stuhlman of New Hartford and a special friend, Jim Vedete of Utica. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Doris Stuhlman, brother Bert Stuhlman and niece, Joann Callahan. Mr. Stuhlman's funeral will be held on Saturday February 19, 2011 at 9:15 a.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica and 10:00 at St. Joseph & St. Patrick church where his Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Whitesboro.
