Gerald (Jerry) J. Trzcinski, 64, of Schuyler, NY, passed away unexpectedly at his home on February13, 2011. Jerry was born in Utica, NY, on November 18, 1946, the son of Vincent and Josephine (Mical) Trzcinski. He was raised and educated in the Utica School System. He later joined the Army Reserves, with 20 years of service. In 1972, Jerry was married to the former Theresa Viggiano. Jerry had been employed with the Utica Cutlery Co. and later with Mohawk Hospital Equipment Co. from where he retired. He was an active member of American Legion Post #229 of Utica. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed much of his free time camping. Jerry is survived by one son, Philip and his fiancee, Danielle DeStefanis, of Utica; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Frances Krecidlo, Patricia and Vincent Zaleski, and Carol and Raymond Graves, all of Utica; and two brothers, Frederick, of CA, and Robert, of Utica. He also leaves several nieces and nephews and a special friend, Ron O'Dell. Mr. Trzcinski's funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM, Wednesday evening, February 16, 2011, at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica. Burial will be at the convenience of his family. Calling hours at the funeral home will be from 4 until 7, prior to his service. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Legion Post #229 Scholarship Fund in Jerry's memory would be appreciated.
