Mary Lou O'Connor, 84 of Deerfield passed away Tuesday January 18, 2011. Mary Lou was born in Buffalo, NY on October 30, 1926 a daughter of Louis and Josephine (Blattman) Schindler. In Scarsdale, NY on June 19, 1948 Mary Lou married Harry E. O'Connor. Mr. O'Connor passed away on June 29, 2010. For many years she was employed as a nurse for various Physicians in the Utica area. Mary Lou was a member of Historic Old St. John's Church, Utica, the Utica Maennerchor and Choir member for 35 years and the North Utica Seniors. Mary Lou is survived by a brother, Francis Schindler, Sr. of Bellaire, MD, nieces and nephews, Francis and Betsy Schindler, Jr., Baltimore, MD, John and Diane Schindler, New York City and Mary and Bob Zilg, New York City and many close and dear friends. Mrs. O'Connor's funeral will be held on Saturday January 22, 2011 at 9:15 from the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica and at 10:00 from Historic Old St. John's Church, Utica. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Clinton. Calling hours at the funeral home are Friday from 4-7. Those so wishing may make donations to the Abraham House in memory of Mary Lou's husband Harry. The Maennerchor choir will meet at the funeral home Friday evening at 6:30.
