Robert E. "Shakey" Albin, Sr., 65 of Utica passed away on Friday December 31, 2010 with his loving family by his side. Bob was born in Utica on April 8, 1945 a son of James and Elizabeth (Coughlin) Albin. On May 2, 1964 at St. Patrick's Church, Utica he was united in marriage to Linda Lee Thrasher a blessed union of 41 years until her passing away on January 28, 2005. For many years he was employed with the Wonder Bread Bakery in Utica. After his wife passed away Bob opened Shakey's Cafe in Utica. He was a member of St. Joseph's & St. Patrick's Church, Utica. Bob also enjoyed woodworking and spending winters in Sebastian, Florida. Bob is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Christine Albin, Utica, Beth and Bill Kelsey, Utica, and Lorraine and Thomas Locaccio, Whitesboro, a son, Bud Albin and Melissa Murphy, Utica, 7 grandchildren, Chad Albin, Jessica Kelsey Andrew Kelsey, Frankie Albin, Colin Kelsey, Alyssa Albin, and Skylar Albin, a brother and sister-in-law, John and Marilyn Albin, Whitesboro, a daughter-in -law, Tina Albin, Utica and his fiancée, Sonja Jaquays, Yorkville. Mr. Albin's funeral will be held on Wednesday January 5, 2011 at 10:45 from the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica and at 11:30 from St. Joseph's & St. Patrick's Church, Utica. A spring burial will take place in Glenside Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Tuesday from 6-8.
