Mr. George Barocsi, Age 76 passed away on December 17, 2010 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare in New Hartford with his loving family by his side. George was born in Bridgeport, Conn on February 10, 1934 the son of Joseph and Rose (Dudic) Barocsi and attended Bridgeport, Conn Schools. George proudly served in the US Air Force that once was stationed in Rome, NY. On June 1, 1957 he was united in marriage with Margaret D. Citro and as a couple, enjoyed 53 years of marriage bliss. For 14 years George was employed with N. D. Peters in Utica, later with Arctic Storage and for 30 years with Wonder Bread in Utica until his retirement. He was a parishioner of St. Mark's Church in N. Utica. George was a "people person" who simply enjoyed being around his family and friends. Mr. Barocsi is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret; four children, Jo-Ann & Sam Costner of Loudon, TN, Michael Barocsi of Utica, David & Kathy Barocsi of New York Mills and Elizabeth Barocsi of Utica. his grandsons, Michael and Matthew; one brother Joseph Barocsi of Fairfield, Conn and Daniel Walker who was like a son to George and Margaret; Also surviving are nieces, nephews and in-laws. He is predeceased by his son George David Barocsi and his sister, Rosemary (Barocsi) Chapin. Mr. Barocsi's funeral will be held on Tuesday December 21, 2010 at 9:15 a.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica and 10:00 at St. Mark's Church, 440 Keyes Rd., N. Utica where his mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Utica. Calling hours for family and friends are Monday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. The Family would like to thank the staff of the ICU Unit of St. Luke's, Dr. Atul Butala and Dr. Paul Davidson for the wonderful care and compassion that was given to George during his stay.
