Jean M. Murphy, 93, a resident of Pleasant Valley Nursing Center in Derry, NH, formerly of Marcy, NY, passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at the home. Jean was born November 7, 1916 in Utica, NY, the daughter of Jacob and Josephine (Zultek) Macior. She was raised and educated in Utica. On June 16, 1940, Jean married Thomas S. Murphy, Sr. Mr. Murphy passed away in 1991. She was a member of the North Utica Senior Center and a communicant of St. Peter's Church, North Utica. Jean is survived by two daughters and two sons-in-law, Sharon Koniszewski, NH, Bonnie and Kevin Cleary, Marcy, NY, Olney Anthony, PA; a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas, Jr. and Michelle Murphy, MA; six grandchildren and their spouses, Steven and Allison Anthony, WI, Lisa Anthony, PA, Mark and Karen Murphy, NH, Laurie Koniszeweski, NH, Alison and Matthew Rich, Rochester, NY, Kristine Cleary, MO. Jean is predeceased by a daughter, Beverly Anthony; and a sister and four brothers, Julia Padykula, Jerry Macior, Louie Macior, Chester Macior, and Edward Macior. Mrs. Murphy's funeral will be held on Monday, October 18, 2010 at 9:45 am from the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., North Utica and at 10:30 am at St. Peter's Church where her Mass of Christian Burial will take place. Interment will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, North Utica. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Sunday afternoon from 3 - 5 pm.
