Vincent "Jim" P. Dalla, 82, of Oriskany, passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at his home with his family by his side. Vincent was born September 12, 1928 in Whitesboro, the son of Michael and Francesca Dalla. He was raised and educated in Whitesboro, graduating from Whitesboro High School. Vincent served his country with the US Army during the Korean War. He owned and operated Jim's Gulf Station in Oriskany for almost 55 years. In 1970, Vincent married Betty Duvelow in Mexico. He was a member of Parkers American Legion Post # 1448, Oriskany; of the National Historical Railroad Society; and of the National Sons of Italy. Vincent was of the Catholic faith. Vincent is survived by his beloved wife, Betty Dalla, Oriskany; their family, Linda and Robert Young, Whitesboro, Robert and Susan Mitchell, Whitesboro, Donna and Walter Jones, Whitesboro, Susan and James Goodison, Stittville, Dennis and Kathryn Mitchell, Oriskany, as well as many grandchildren and great granchildren. Also surviving are two sisters and a brother-in-law, Ann and Robert Rusaw, Whitesboro; Agnes Cognetto, Utica, and also several nieces. Vincent is predeceased by his brother, John Dalla. Funeral Services for Mr. Dalla are being held privately at the convenience of the family. Interment will take place in Oriskany Cemetery. Those wishing may donate to the Stevens - Swan Humane Society in Vincent's memory. Arrangements are entrusted to the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica.
